Common name: UV absorber OPS
Chemical name: n-octylphenyl salicylate
English name: 4-n-octylphenylsalicylate
Molecular formula: C21H26O3
Relative molecular mass: 326.43
Appearance: white crystal
Melting point: 72~74℃
Boiling point: 435.1℃ (760mmHg)
Relative density: 1.076
Solubility: Solubility in the following solvents (g/100g solvent) at 27℃ is acetone 127.2, benzene 144.0, ethane 37.0, ethanol 4.5, water<0.1
Absorption range: 290~330nm
Application performance: This product is a polyolefin ultraviolet absorber, and its ability to absorb ultraviolet rays is poor. After light irradiation, the adjacent position rearrangement occurs, which obviously absorbs visible light, thus making the product yellow. However, these compounds are inexpensive, have good compatibility with resins, and are still widely used.
Dosage: 0.1~1.0 serving
Safety: The product has low oral toxicity. No death was observed in the mice at 3.2 g/kg. Non-flammable and non-corrosive
